Briess red wheat malt has a lightly malty flavor and a light straw color. It has the distinctive wheat character found in many traditional wheat beers. It has a higher protein content and slightly nuttier flavor compared to white wheat. It can be used in small proportions or up to 100% of the base malt in a recipe (with a filtering aid). Red wheat malt will improve head retention and mouthfeel in any style and is ideally suited for all wheat beer styles.
