The Safbrew BE-256 Abbey yeast strain is the ideal choice for reproducing the famous Abbey-style beers of Belgium. They are are known for their high alcohol content, complex flavor and estery aroma. The yeast ferments very quickly and has a high attenuation rate producing beers up to 11% alcohol. Use this yeast for a wide range of Abbey-style beers or for any other style which requires a high attenuation and mild estery character.
