D-180 extra dark candi syrup has a brown-black color and a flavor of coffee, dark stone fruit and toasted bread. It is the proper candi syrup for reproducing Quadrupel ales and other dark Belgian styles. Unlike sucrose, candi syrup has a high proportion of fructose and glucose resulting in a richer, more complex flavor profile compared to other sugar sources. Made from raw beet sugar.

Stir to make sure that sugar does not get burned at the bottom of the kettle by the heating element. The syrup can be added at flame-out to avoid burning.
